{"id":271,"date":"2023-01-30T13:05:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T13:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/andywooler.info\/brassbandaid2026\/?p=271"},"modified":"2026-03-12T19:40:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T19:40:58","slug":"run-13-february-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/andywooler.info\/brassbandaid2026\/runs\/run-13-february-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Andy&#8217;s 2nd run &#8211; February 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It&#8217;s all hands on deck today (30th Jan) as the team have to sort, package and weigh each box &#8211; we need to do this for the Ukranian customs forms when we get to the border later this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The run is well underway now having started with a non-stop drive through snow in Germany and Poland to a night stop near the border, ready for a very early morning crossing. We were through in just under an hour! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mike updates on run no. 12!\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U6ylBLzTfI4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first part of the trip, we have the 3 core UK team members on board &#8211; Andy had to return early but more of that later! First stop was to our wonderful friend Marina in Bovary to offload the first part of our load. Whilst we were there, we assisted her and the team to load vans for a later trip with aid that came across from our other friends in the UK, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/helpukrainebamk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Help Ukraine BAMK<\/a>. We also took the opportunity to visit an orphanage at Vorsel with Marina. Here we met another group from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WicklowAid4Ukraine?__cft__[0]=AZXUUWVeQ_iiRd9tVU1bi7UM8d3KLa51_Gz5WWLLWlXAYxWPRj-obR-g-JJBYv3Y0BoaABxxolVl6Sz-TNpj93wVPzoKHAevQtksH7CO_lB0m8u0ME8iRcM-9TTpmESlpHNHMvfwXTwz6EvSUV3dgzqvVNvFIsxGAWrnbO404OeLpCJqoYv5s-E11thCJF6hNxDRI5uL9FsYUM4auCMpXiL2&amp;__tn__=-]K-R\" target=\"_blank\">Wicklowaid4Ukraine<\/a> &#8211; Marina had persuaded them to split some of their aid with this orphanage which she supports. There are no words to describe what they saw there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"There are no words.....\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y3uBdIA7Ru0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then it was back to Brovary for a well deserved rest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A bit of downtime in Kyiv and a trip to another contact in Irpin, it was time to head to Lviv and the last drop of the trip.
