Run 21 was a solo run with Andy&#8217;s van to Kyiv. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andy\u2019s had just over 1 tonne on board! Andy though is more happy that Tony can drive!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More aid was been loaded onto the van on Friday 6th &#8211; huge thanks to our Brass Band Aid partners <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lgbbrass\" target=\"_blank\">LGB Brass<\/a>, Tony Line, Chris Nonoo and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/berkutsa\" target=\"_blank\">Oksana Tidman<\/a> from the Ukraine Support Group in Bexhill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first stop was in Weeze to pick up some aid kindly sourced by Frank, our photographer friend from the last run &#8211; here&#8217;s his shopping trip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - Frank&#039;s donated aid!\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x4paGr_QPCs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - Frank finally finished shopping!\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SeQ3lz8bJlY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite road closures on the way to Dover, we arrived there with an hour to spare before our departure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - arrival at Dover!\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b7D7ndFma3s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a big bonus for Andy to have Tony along as it enabled us to avoid having to stop for sleep! Here&#8217;s the 2nd update from the run:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - 2nd update from the team\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JExU9GMqU38?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The team made good progress to the Poland\/Ukraine border crossing at Medyka &#8211; getting in to the Polish side was very quick but then it slowed down &#8211; unusually for the Poles to be the cause but they appeared to have systems problems!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - 3rd update\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SmOef6ORvRQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrived in Brovary in good time to be able to unload the same day &#8211; this was great for us as we wanted to head down to Odessa the following morning. If I missed any donor name checks in these videos, my apologies &#8211; it was the end of a very long day! Then it was just a short 5 1\/2 hr trip down to Odessa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - on the way down to Odessa\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ivmVKwRHhjM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tony has friends there which was the purpose of this part of the trip for which Tony kindly funded the fuel and accommodation costs. Having a few days real rest and recuperation before heading home is something Andy doesn&#8217;t normally get so this was much appreciated! We did see other damage near the port but for security reasons, cannot post the pictures at this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was soon time to start the long drive back to Dunkirk &#8211; the overall time from Odessa to Lancing, which is where Andy&#8217;s van is stored, was 39 hours. Splitting the driving made this a much less painful experience than it sounds!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Run 21 - update from the Ukraine\/Poland border crossing\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FdJdYQyimgM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The crossing time of 1hr 20m was a personal best for Andy! Then it was just a 15hr drive back to Dunkirk &#8211; except we discovered the legs from one of the hospital bed tables was still on the van!
